This gets brought up a lot in this industry about feeling like an imposter which then stops us from showing up more or it makes us create choices that may not necessarily be in alignment with who we are and the person we are wanting to become.
I wanted to share my journey with you because maybe you’re also feeling this way and I’m here to say that this feeling is very normal. But it doesn’t have to be the one driving the car and taking you on the “tourist route” which we all know adds what feels like years to the trip.
Over the last few years of having my business, growing in many ways and building my identity up in the coaching world my Imposter had popped in many times.
“Am I good enough for this?”
“Do I know enough about xyz?”
“Should I try or just wait until I have more experience?”
The one question that I ask myself time and time again…”Is there truth in this?”
This one hits hard especially when it comes to knowledge and the pattern of certification hopping. You know when you feel like you need to keep getting more qualified in order to have authority? Yeah, I did that pattern.
There’s a gift in that – more knowledge but there’s also a downside…spending money constantly, being in spaces that maybe don’t fully align, not having enough time to fully be in these spaces because you “had to stretch yourself.”
So, I ask myself “is there truth to this?”
Do I actually need to expand my skillset or is it that I feel lost?
Do I truly believe I’m not good enough or is it that I’m nervous?
Do I need to stretch myself and spend more money or am I afraid to sit in stability?
You see the Imposter is here because there’s something in you that doesn’t feel solid, you may be doing something you haven’t done before or that creates expansion in you but it doesn’t mean we always have to listen to that voice.
It’s not telling you that you’re wrong and that you are not allowed to feel this way. It’s our reminder that we are doing something outside our normal, outside our comfort zone.
Yes, even stability and not pushing can bring up the imposter because maybe for the first time in years you feel this feeling of stability which means our nervous system is like “What is this?”
So, to tie this into Shadow Alchemy Certification and if you’ve been on this fence.
One – only you will know.
We can’t tell you and we also won’t push you into the certification if your goal is to check off another certification.
Two – get curious.
Is there a gap in your skillset that you want to improve on?
Is there a pull to lean into Somatic Shadow Work?
Is there space for you to expand your nervous system and step into more embodiment?
Are you ready to be in a certification program that holds you in many ways?
Yes? Awesome, then we’ll see you there.
The imposter is another shadow and with every shadow, it has the light and the dark, a gift and a lesson. It’s a reminder to listen and choose how you want to lead.
My journey has been a mixture of “oh that’s awesome” and “well, I just made a decision from scarcity” after listening to my imposter.
I’ve made decisions that cost a lot of time, energy and money that I necessarily didn’t need to spend but it was a lesson, a reminder to listen to my body and find the truth.
